Music Videos

Here’s a link to some of my videos on my Youtube Channel

And here’s one of my music videos.   Football theme.  Don’t know why, but I’ve been  asked to shoot several football based music videos.  The thing is I’m not particularly interested in football.

But this was fun to shoot. though what was intended to be a Premiere League Football Ground eventually turned out to be a tiny five a side pitch.

..and here’s a very simple  video  I shot for Steve Giles and Chris Johnson …who are Richmond Soul. We spent most of the  day filming “I heard it through the Grapevine” in a very cold warehouse/studio. But right at the end of the day as we running out of time,  shot them singing “Money” in one take.

I loved the way that the continuous take shows the spontaneous fun they have singing together.

Steve also had a cold. ..so his nose became quite red.  Which I minimised by grading the video to black and white.

Here’s the other video we shot that day.

They told me it made a big difference to the number of bookings they got.

and here’s  a behind the scenes video of the filming of something a little more complex

A World Cup Anthem

and here’s a link to some recent filming

I worked at the BBC on programmes such as RPM and the Cellar Show, where one of my roles was to scout for bands to appear on the show. I was also responsible for organising the biggest Outside Broadcast at the time run by BBC West.   Five continuous days of bands.

I’ve filmed with hundreds of musicians and bands, including the Rolling Stones, Stranglers, Toyah Willcox and many others.  All types of music, all sorts of styles.  Budgets ..big …to small.  With my background and experience of high level production, I can produce high quality images.

If a video is amateurish, then the by implication the band are amateurish.   It doesn’t necessarily take a big budget, but good images, good lighting makes all the difference.
